Foundations for Learning to Read For children entering grade 1 Is your child just beginning to put sounds together to form words when they read? Taught by reading specialists and classroom teachers, this class is designed for readers who continue to work on letter-recognition skills, sight-word memorization, or beginning blending skills. Your child will experience the Orton-Gillingham approach to learning how to read, which is structured, sequential, and multisensory. This class will get your child excited about learning how to read, so they can jump into first-grade reading with confidence. Full Session: June 23–August 1 Half Day: 8:30 a.m.–12:35 p.m. Instructors: Valerie Grbavac and Foley Burckardt, Program Manager
Participants must be entering grades 1.
