Description

Ceramics

For children entering grades 6–8

Spend lovely summer afternoons in Lab’s own clay studio. We will work through hand-building techniques, like pinching, coiling, and slabs, to make sculptural objects and useful vessels. Your artist will learn about the stages of clay and how to make an object that survives drying without breaking. Some time is given for playing and experimenting with surface treatment and decoration. The instructor will fire the clay pieces in the kiln to finish them before your child gets to take their artwork home.
