Description

Animation and The Humanities I

For children entering grades 6–8

Students will familiarize themselves with a variety of age-appropriate animation series, spanning the last one hundred years. We will summarize, discuss, and write about specific episodes through different lenses of critical analysis used in Humanities classes. This session will help students communicate and express themselves in writing. Students will practice making and presenting arguments related, but not limited, to comparing and contrasting, character development, and plot analysis. Students will improve their writing with frequent exercises to develop their written voices. Ultimately, this session will help increase confidence and familiarity with the writing process through a medium which many of them enjoy.  The class will cover the same content each session and we recommend only registering for this class one time.
