Description

Adventure Kids Day Camp

For children entering grades 3–8

Adventure Kids Day Camp offers an engaging, high-energy, and rewarding program based on core values of trust, communication, and teamwork. Throughout this experience, campers and staff alike enhance their leadership qualities and advance their cooperative skills and self-confidence through team challenges and group team-building. Our campers and staff are quick to connect and proudly return summer after summer, forging friendships and creating lasting memories. Come join us for a truly remarkable adventure!

Field Trips

Field trips are at the top of the list for favorite adventures at AK. Campers will visit some local and Chicagoland area attractions. We also use our very own beautiful campus and surrounding areas for some walking adventures. Campers go on age-specific field trips every Tuesday and Thursday.* Campers in grades 6–8 will have an opportunity to attend our traditional overnight camping trip to Camp Duncan during Session III. In addition to experiencing all of the adventures of camping, they will also participate in boating, blobbing, zip-lining, rock climbing, and high ropes courses.

Swimming

We are excited to partner with M3 Aquatics to provide an excellent swim program including lessons for children of all ability levels. Swimming takes place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday weekly. The swim program will have low student-instructor ratios to ensure each child gets individualized attention while learning team-building skills. Campers will participate in a balanced aquatics experience, including games, lessons, workouts, and FUN!

Adventure Kids Sports

We offer a variety of sports and fun activities based on our weekly themes. From basketball and pickleball, to the ever-so-popular game of Quidditch, Adventure Kids takes full advantage of Lab’s awesome facilities including multiple gyms, fields, playgrounds, pool, tennis courts, and more. Consistent with the core Adventure Kids values, all activities promote an all-inclusive and cooperative group dynamic.

AK Camp Idol and other Special Events

AK Camp Idol is our end-of-session showcase of talents. Groups work together to develop creative, energetic, and fun dance routines and other varying talents that they perform on the last day of the session in front of their fellow campers, staff, and an energetic crowd of fans. Special events are planned throughout each session according to themes.

Specialty Classes

Campers will participate in all that Adventure Kids supervisors and specialists have to offer. We love supporting our camper’s passions and interests. Some examples that campers have explored include arts and crafts, wellness/yoga,gardening,  music, dance, LEGOs, STEM challenges, and sports conditioning. Some classes specifically offered to older groups include an opportunity to participate in specialty units of outdoor adventures including fishing, paddle boarding, visits to Hyde Park’s historic lakefront treasure, The Point, and campus orienteering adventures.
