Introduce your child to the basics of cello playing through the Suzuki method of education. The Suzuki method originated in Japan and emphasizes repetition/review, listening, parental involvement, and community learning. Students in this introductory course will learn basic cello technique, introductory pieces, and beginner music theory. Cello rental from William Harris Lee & Co. is a requirement for participation unless your child already has a violin. This class is not affiliated with the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Music Department or curriculum.
Participants must currently be in grades 1 to 2.
