Description

In Math Explorers, students will strengthen and stretch their foundational math skills through playful and challenging activities designed to spark curiosity and deepen mathematical thinking. This enrichment class focuses on open-ended math questions, puzzles, and riddles that encourage students to think flexibly, explain their reasoning, and explore multiple strategies for solving problems. Whether students are cracking a number pattern, figuring out a mystery quantity, or working through a logic puzzle, they’ll be developing key skills in addition, subtraction, number sense, and mathematical communication.

Hands-on learning is at the heart of this class. Students will use a wide range of math manipulatives—such as number lines, base ten blocks, counters, and pattern blocks—to model problems and support their reasoning. This tactile approach helps build confidence and enables young learners to visualize abstract concepts in a meaningful way.

By fostering mathematical exploration in a playful, low-pressure environment, Math Explorers supports young learners in becoming confident problem solvers who are excited to think critically and creatively. This class is best suited for students with a natural interest in mathematics and a desire to be challenged.
